Experience Sailing
Redditch Sailing Club hold training courses for complete beginners progressing from RYA Level 1 to Level 2. We also hold separate classes for children at RYA Stage 1 through to Stage 4.
You will be trained by our own in house RYA qualified trainers.
Our newly refurbished clubhouse has changing facilities with hot showers and a social area where you can relax and have lunch with the other course members.
Pop along for a chat and a tour any Sunday morning at the club house ask for the "Officer of the Day" to introduce you to a Committee member or a member of the Training team..
RYA qualifications are recognised worldwide and we would suggest that you achieve RYA level 2 if you would like to race at a local club.
Whichever course you choose, there will be a balance between the theoretical elements and the very practical nature of the sport.
All courses emphasise safety whilst teaching the fundamentals relevant to the course, boat handling and seamanship skills. Of course, it goes without saying that we also work on making the activities fun and rewarding.

RYA Level 1: course dates

Aimed at the absolute beginner, a basic introduction to sailing and at the end of the course you will be sailing a boat along with an instructor.

RYA Level 2: course dates

Consolidating what has been learnt in Level 1 and enhancing the skills to be able to sail solo. You will also learn how to recover from a capsize in a controlled manner.

This RYA course covers the minimum syllabus requirements for Emergency First Aid at Work and contains additional content pertinent to the marine environment.
