The Course

This course consolidates the practical skills and background knowledge learnt from Level 1. On completion of this course, the successful sailor will be safety conscious, have a basic knowledge of sailing and be capable of sailing without an instructor on board in light winds.

Friday is classroom based, Saturday and Sunday are mainly time on the water interspersed with theory.

Our training boats are Laser 2000's, this is a common training boat that can accommodate 3 people.

An instructor will be with you initially in the boat but depending upon your ability you may be sailing without the instructor in the boat by the end of the course.

Wear clothing suitable for the weather, old trainers are fine.

Buoyancy aids will be provided.

A safety boat will be on duty throughout the time on the water

The capsize will be held at the end of the final day so be prepared to get wet. This will be conducted in a controlled manner, one boat at a time and close to the club house.

Beverages and biscuits will be available throughout the day, you are welcome to bring sandwiches for Saturday but we do a run to the chip shop.
