1.1. The open
meeting will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of
Sailing. 1.2. The RYA rules shall apply.
2. NOTICES TO
COMPETITORS
2.1. Notices to
competitors will be posted adjacent to the by the lake map underneath the balcony.
3. CHANGES TO
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
3.1. Any change
to the sailing instructions will be posted before 10:30am on the day it will
take effect, except that any change to the schedule of races will be posted by
20:00 on the day before it will take effect.
4. SIGNALS
MADE ASHORE
4.1. Signals made ashore will be displayed on the balcony.
4.2. The race sequence shall be: 5 minute, yellow
flagup, four minute blue flag up, one minute blue flag down, start yellow flag
down.
5. SCHEDULE
OF RACES
5.1. The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race is
10:55.
5.2. No warning signal will be made after 16:00.
5.3. There will be 3 races
6. THE RACE
6.1. The start and finish positions will be determined on the day.
6.2. The course will be as marked on the lake map situated under the
balcony and will show the order in which marks are to be passed.
6.3. Marks will be either red, orange, green or white in colour.
6.4. The starting and finishing marks will be two blue buoys.
6.5. A boat that does not start within 10 minutes after her starting
signal will be scored Did Not Start without a hearing.
6.6. Boats failing to finish within 20 minutes after the first boat
sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish without a hearing.
This changes RRS 35, A4 and A5.
6.7. A boat that retires from a race shall
notify the race committee as soon as possible.
7. PROTESTS
AND REQUESTS FOR REDRESS
We would hope that protests are amicably sorted between competitors
on the water or at the bar, but if not:-
7.1. Protest forms are available at the Officer of the Day cabin.
Protests and requests for redress or reopening shall be delivered there within 90
minutes after the last boat has finished the last race of the day or the race
committee signals no more racing today, whichever is later.
7.2. Notices will be posted no later than 30 minutes after the
protest time limit to inform competitors of hearings in which they are parties
or named as witnesses.
7.3. Decisions of the protest committee
will be final.
8. SCORING
8.1. 2 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
8.2. When 3 races are completed a boats series score shall be the
total of her series score excluding her worst score.
8.3. Prizes will be given as follows: 1st,
2nd and 3rd
9. DISCLAIMER
OF LIABILITY
9.1. Competitors participate in the meeting
entirely at their own risk. organizing authority will not accept any liability
for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with
or prior to, during, or after the meeting.
10. INSURANCE
10.1. Each participating boat shall be
insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of
£3,000,000 per incident or the equivalent.
11.
CANCELATION DUE TO WEATHER
11.1. If a weather forecast of F6 or above is forecast the regatta
well be cancelled by 17:00 the day before whenever possible.
11.2.
If the wind comes in stronger than forecasted, the race maybe cancelled or
preponed
