Instructions: Comet Open Meeting

July 16th 2022

An Open Meeting for Comets is scheduled for Saturday 16th July 2022 and will be organised by Redditch Sailing Club.

Arrow Valley Lake

The lake is roughly 30 acres, it is shallow and surrounded by trees and has two small islands in the middle of the lake.

When approaching the road from Proctors Barn Lane, there is a public car park on the left hand side of the track just before the entrance to the club grounds. You are welcome to leave boat trolley, road trailer and equipment in the club grounds but please park your car in the public car park.

This is a public area so please be aware of others as you move around.

Registration

An entry fee of £15 for is required for the meeting – pay on the day.

We have an open meeting/ regatta entry form which needs to be completed in the club house before the start of the meeting.

The club will be open from 09:30.

Safety brief at 10:30.

The first race starts at 11:00.

Second and third races after lunch.

Hot lunch will be provided along with tea and biscuits during the day and cake for the afternoon. Please let me know if you would like a meat, vegan, vegetarian meal or if you have any dietary requirements.

Your dinghy must have up to date insurance, for liability of £3,000,000.

Wearing of buoyancy aids is mandatory both waterside (within 5m) and on all vessels.

Bio security is becoming a hot topic, so please wash your dinghy before coming to Redditch and there is a hose pipe to wash down after the sailing.

There are small lockers available in the changing room for valuables.

We hope you will enjoy sailing with us at Redditch Sailing Club, and if you intend to stay in the area overnight, the club welcome you to join our Sunday morning race starting at 10.00.
